Earn your certificate degree online

You will earn the same diploma as our on-campus students
The Developmental Disabilities Studies Certificate covers a number of the topics required for employees by OMRDD (Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities). Lifestyles of individuals with developmental disabilities have changed dramatically over the past twenty years as they have moved out of institutions and into community residences. GCC's certificate program addresses the skills and knowledge necessary for you to succeed as a human service worker. The certificate may be completed in one year (full-time) and can be taken separately or as part of the Human Services AAS Degree Program.
What's a certificate?
Certificates are usually one year in length and lead directly to employment. They consist of a focused series of courses and are typically found at Community Colleges.
You will need to spend some time on campus to earn this degree
This degree will require you to spend some time on-campus at Genesee Community College for some classes or seminars. However, the rest of your classes may be completed online. You may see this referred to as a "Hybrid Degree".
